Taking photographs in school

Taking photographs in school can be a contentious issue, and is covered by data protection laws, and as a result the school seeks the permission of parents for using photographs of their children for a variety of reasons such as marketing, for use in the Gazette, TV items and the school Twitter account.

We like to be able to give parents permission for taking photographs of their children at school events such as Sports Day and class assemblies, however these photos are taken on the understanding that they are not put on social media as the photograph may include other children whose parents have not given permission.

Please bear this in mind when you are taking photographs in school.
