Fire Safety
Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service have asked us to circulate the information here and to let you know that you can pick up a FREE smoke alarm from any Fire Station this Saturday (21st January) between 11am and 5pm. You can also book a free home fire safety check.

St Nicholas Church of England Primary School welcomes Leading Leaders from across England today. These leading leaders are coming to look at how we use technology to support learning across the school and the school is looking forward to learning from them so that we can improve the provision for our children still further.

Governors this week agreed to the holiday pattern for 2012-13. This approved pattern returns to a 2 week Easter break and one week in May. This decision has been taken by the Governors after consulting with parents. Can I ask you to look carefully at this pattern before booking family holidays. As you will know holidays in term are not authorised and may lead to action being taken by the Local Authority and the school to ensure satisfactory attendance.

Macmillan Coffee Afternoon
On Tuesday 27th September we held a coffee afternoon in school. The children made
biscuits and cakes and the staff slaved over hot tea and coffee!
We had a great turnout from parents so a huge thank you if you came and supported the event. In total we raised £153 in one hour!!!

If your child arrives after this time, they will be marked late and must enter the school through the front door.
The school doors open from 8:45am, allowing the children to enter school over a 10 minute period.

On Saturday 26th March our school took part in an athletics tournament at the De Vere hotel and got to meet double Olympic Gold Medallist and our green team House President, Dame Kelly Holmes!

This was the verdict today from an assessor from BECTA who was assessing us against the BECTA Quality Mark for ICT. Well done to everyone, pupils, parents, staff and governors who have all contributed to this award.
