Curriculum Statement
We believe that all children have gifts and abilities and that it is our role as educators, to help all children to achieve their full potential.
As a Church of England Voluntary Aided Primary School, we believe that God is central to all of our lives and that God values us all and knows and values each and every one of us.
We value each and every child and believe that we are in a privileged position, in working with parents, to be able to shape each child's learning, to motivate and to enthuse.
We feel that learning should be an enjoyable voyage of discovery and to that end, we pursue a variety of teaching and learning strategies which include a range of kinaesthetic, auditory and visual activities.
We believe that the curriculum should meet the needs of all children and therefore strive to ensure that the needs of all learners are met, regardless of where they are in their learning journey.

Christian Values!
We believe that everyone who learns at our school should behave in school according to Christian Value. These values are explained at the website www.christianvalues4schools.co.uk/ which is introduced by the Archbishop of Canterbury. We have also tried to interpret these for our children and staff at St Nicholas. You can find these here.
Talk Homework
We are trying to create new and exciting ways for parents and children to engage with homework. Hot on the heels of Learning Logs, we have Talk Homework. Evidence shows that when the children have talked about a subject and thought it through they produce better quality written work in school. As a result there will be something for parents to discuss with their children once a week for a period of 15 minutes, maybe over tea, which will help them to produce better quality writing in school.
Talk homework for year groups will be posted on the Year Groups pages here.
